Fall Of Efrafa is a band based around a reimagining of the mythological and political overtones in the book "watership down" by Richard Adams, focusing our efforts in forwarding atheist/animal rights ideologies. we write very long epic, heavy, melancholic post hardcore, taking influence from post rock, post metal, ambient black metal, hardcore etc.

We are currently working on the final chapter of a trilogy of records known as "The Warren Of Snares" - which began with our first record Owsla, (meaning warrior or defender) which set the narrative of an unnamed society in the final throws of a war against mankind. A society that still clings to the dwindling beliefs of its elders, yet struggles to break free of stagnating ideology.

Elil (meaning enemy, or predator)was our second full length and dealt with these beliefs, and the oppressive reign of religious indoctrination. In this chapter, the society finally overthrows the rule of their god, Frith.

The final chapter, which we are currently writing, is called Inlé (meaning both death, and the name of a deific character within the societies beliefs) This is the final recording effort of Fall of efrafa, and also the end of the trilogy. It will deal with hope, in the face of death.

The trilogy is cyclical, with Owsla being the first, and last chapter. Although the music we play has changed and progressed since our inception, we try to keep a cohesive sound and story, that follows the narrative. Inlé, the final record will be released late august 2009.

As a band we encourage people to talk more openly about animal rights and strive for a future in which humanity ceases to be dependent on the exploitation and slaughter of non human animals. It is easy to label this as preaching or arrogance, but communication is how we learn. Debating such issues only helps us become more aware of our actions, be that for political and social change or an end to religious oppression.

All the members of Fall Of Efrafa are vegan and atheist. Although we are open to discussion, we hope that those who listen to our music appreciate that these values are as important to us as the music itself. Please read the lyrics and explanations.

We hope you enjoy our music.

“Hypersona” is the debut release by 36 for his fledgling label, 3six Recordings. Produced over a span of 3 years, it represents the first in a series of three planned albums under the 36 alias.

Unfathomably rich textures combine with delicate instrumentation, and the ghostprint of lost transmissions struggle for their right to be heard. The cold warmth of radio static rushes the heart, whilst the tender melodies break it into a thousand pieces. Always beautiful, but with an unnerving sense of malice, “Hypersona” is like a twisted fairytale, where the outcome is never certain and light must always cast a shadow.

Drawing upon countless influences, but expressed in a personal, honest voice, “Hypersona” is a distinctive, original work, which ignores trends and sits comfortably in a space without time and place.

Album: Yawning Sons - Ceremony To The Sunset

Band: Yawning Sons
Album: Ceremony To The Sunset

02. Tomahawk Watercress

04. Whales In Tar
05. Meadows
06. Garden Sessions III
07. Japanese Gardens

Yawning Sons came about via a collaboration between two instrumental bands from different sides of the Atlantic. Last year, Gary Arce from legendary US desert/psych veterans Yawning Man was invited over to the UK to produce a new album by the instrumental progressive electro stoner riff-rock outfit, Sons Of ALpha Centauri. Upon arrival, they started jamming it out in the studio and by day's end they realized they'd tapped into something special. The idea of Arce simply "producing" was scrapped. With both acts heading the musical direction, over the course of a week they wrote and recorded an entire album's worth of material together and came to the conclusion that a whole new entity had been born. It is called Yawning Sons.

With sound files subsequently flying back and forth across the ocean there's now been the additional contributions of lap steel from Gary, as well as vocals from Yawning Man veteran Mario Lalli, Scott Reeder (Kyuss / Obsessed) and Wendy Rae Fowler (QOTSA / Mark Lanegan Band / UNKLE). This is truly where the Californian desert heat has met the chilled Kent coast. How to describe Yawning Sons? It's not simply "Yawning Man-meets-Sons Of Alpha Centauri". One listen to the album evokes the sounds and textures of a dozen different outfits. One of the workers in the studio was heard uttering the words, "Cor blimey, this sounds like Dick Dale playing with Can!". Or think Syd-period 'Floyd decking the halls with some vintage Meat Puppets. Or... wait 'til you hear it. You'll be surprised. It's gonna be good, and it's not what you expect.

Sunlight Ascending is a really young band formed in Troy, Michigan, USA in 2007. Their music is a mix of post-rock, shoegaze and dreamlike soundscapes. The band comprises of guitarists James Schultz and John Ballish, bass player Trish Chisholm and drummer Jeremy Schultz. Sunlight Ascending have just released their first album.

"If you were to just listen to this band on a whim without looking at a press release or Myspace page, your first thought might be how they have mastered that dreamy, instrumental sound that has become increasingly popular through labels like Temporary Residence and Rock Action. But I want to focus on the press release for a second. The age of the band members in Sunlight Ascending range from 14 to 21. It is pretty impressive that a band this young can play at a level that some musicians 10-15 years their senior aren’t even close to. If you are a fan of any of the bands (referring to Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, and Maserati) and/or record labels above, I would have a hard time imagining you not becoming a fan of this up-and-coming band. To the band, I say keep up the great work and go for it. College is overrated anyways." - Late Night Wallflower
