The only member is Gilson C. Heitinga, who write's, and produces all the music for "ATLANTIS" . Gilson started to write songs under the name "ATLANTIS" in de winter of 2005/2006. Under the influence of act's like Massive Attack, Nine Inch Nails, Neurosis, Portishead, SWANS, Clint Mansell, etc,....the songs became more and more filmscore like, but with a undertone layerd with heavy guitars, noisy synth's, samples and heavy drum programming. After a while Gilson teamed up with Field Records from the U.K. to release the first "ATLANTIS" album titled "Carpe Omnium". This album is mostly instrumental and tells a story of a journey trough loss and decay. Live "ATLANTIS" will sound diffrent than on the album with whole new incarnations of the songs. If you have the chance to visit a "ATLANTIS" show, just sit back and enjoy the ride.

sleepmakeswaves are an instrumental rock band from Sydney, Australia. Drawing influences mainly from but not limited to post-rock, the young quartet mix driving metallic bombast with textured electronics to create a sonic space where delicate melodies and thunderous climaxes peacefully co-exist.

Since their formation in late 2006, sleepmakeswaves have rapidly established themselves as a promising and unique voice in their field. Within the space of a year the band has enjoyed considerable word-of-mouth support and have landed auspicious opening slots with post-rock luminaries such as Pelican, Laura and Meniscus on the back of their powerful live show and acclaimed demo recording.

The band's debut EP 'in today already walks tomorrow' is as much a look towards the future as it is a powerful statement in its own right. The record's six varied tracks display sleepmakeswaves' intuitive yet meticulous approach to songwriting and unabashed musical romanticism – the belief that gorgeous melodies and sweeping crescendos really can move people without sounding cliché, tired or sentimental.

The second album is beauty in every sense of the word.Throughout the whole album there is a feeling of passion, of emotion, yet it is, as a whole, a very positive sounding album. It’s the type of album that takes you on a journey to a place where, all of a sudden, all negative thoughts leave you alone and everything is beautiful, everything is pure. Even at this very moment, while listening to the album, it’s a serious task to try and concentrate on writing this review, and not being taken away by the music. This album has a lot of variety on it. The opening minutes of the album have a very progressive feel due to very prominent drums and bass lines, and a very stop-start momentum. . There are some fairly heavy parts, particularly on the opener “i will write peace on your wings and you will fly over the world”, yet even the heaviest moments still incorporate some beautiful melodies, whether on guitar or keys, that keep reinforcing that sense of positivity. They album does feature quite a large amount of slower, more mellow passages, with the track “it’s dark, it’s cold, it’s winter” being one of the few more sorrowful moments.

Inspired as much by the space-tinged acid rock of Kyuss and Monster Magnet as by progressive rock icons like Pink Floyd, Blue Cheer and early Black Sabbath, Tortona, Italy's Ufomammut was formed in 1999 by Urlo (bass/vocals), Poia (guitar/keyboards) and Vita (drums).
After releasing their well-received Godlike Snake debut in the year 2000, Ufomammut toured sporadically and contributed odd tracks to numerous compilations and tribute albums -- most notably the Blue Explosion tribute to Blue Cheer.

"IDOLUM" is the title of the upcoming new album of Ufomammut. It'll be licensed by Supernatural Cat in April 2008.
It'll be out via Supernatural Cat in April 2008 in a limited and numbered edition of 500 pieces including a double 180gr vinyl and cd. The package will be on heavy cardboard totally handsilkscreened by Malleus Rock Art Lab. The limited edition will feature one bonus track on the vinyl version (HERMEAT) A standard cd version will be also licensed by Supernatural Cat.
Recorded in Milano at Magnolia studio and mixed and mastered at Locomotore Recording Studio in Roma, the album proudly features Lorenzo Stecconi as sound engineer. "Idolum" is a new chapter in the sonic adventure of Ufomammut, presenting a sensible evolution in the sound and in the songs' structure of the band: dark atmospheres, simple and mastodontic song frameworks, a new idea of psychedelic rock. "Idolum" is a latin word meaning "ghost" and "idea" at the same time, representing the massive but hidden presence as the main concepts of the album. Rose Kemp astonishing voice will be guest in "Ammonia" while Lorenzer of Lent0 has provided powerful sonic waves on "Elephantom" with his six strings.

Score One For Safety formed out of the ashes of five legendary golden dragons, from the five corners of the universe. They harness the power of magnets to create evil space music. Fear them.

Reviews:
Castle EP: "Epic" doesn't even begin to come close; these two untitled tracks from Barnet's SOFS would make the perfect soundtrack to the end of the world. Akin to standing atop the last remaining mountain as the rest of the planet disintregrates into nothingness - imagine The Neverending Story's Ivory tower destruction sequence as re-imagined by Clive Barker or some other sick fuck. Equal parts screamy hardcore and post-rock ambience, Castles takes a myriad of twists and turns from it's inauspicious beginnings to build to a truly anthemic climax, with the final gang chant vocals resounding like the defiant cry of mankind as he is wiped from the face of the Earth. 5/5 - Robin Southby

The word gargantuan would seem like an insult to Score One For Safety's new, epic Castles EP; daring to do what no one has done before, Score One For Safety fuses heavy-handed and distorted Hardcore with the more tranquil and ambiotic Post-Rock with magnificent produce - 'Castles 2' recreates the eerie feeling of your impending death, about to pounce whilst your back is turned, finally turning into a short but nonetheless mind-blowing passage of pure atmospherical hardcore. 'Castles 1' is Score One For Safety giving birth to the mysterious and violent mammoth that is 'Castles 1' - A titanic Odyssey with crushing yet melodic riffs with SOFS's singer screaming much like the sirens in the Illiad. Breaking down one last time, the music lulls you into a false sense of security - until finally the army of SOFS defiantly rings out their noble and majestic gang-vocal, hardcore-esque battle chant upon you - creating a feeling like you have truly witnessed the death of nobility. With a plethora of soundscapes, Score One For Safety conquer all, don't miss them in the coming year. Long live SOFS - David Robson

Beautiful in the same way the arctic is.

Fragile, emotional, classical indie music would maybe be the best term to describe Ólafur Arnalds’ music. Combining classical instrumentation with an indierock aesthetic there are obvious comparisons to Sigur Ros, but Arnalds is sculpting his own epic, string-laden compositions.

Only 21 years of age, Ólafur hails from the suburban Icelandic town, Mosfellsbær, just a few kilometres outside Reykjavík. He as immersed himself completely in the world of delicate symphonic compositions in a near weightless orchestral undertaking. Mixing strings and piano with loops, ambiance, electronics and beats. Debut album 'Eulogy for Evolution' takes the listener on a journey, representing different periods in life, from birth to death. The follow-up 5-track EP ‘Variations of Static’ so far has only been available as a limited tour edition. While keeping the classical foundations of his debut album, here Arnalds incorporates crackling electronics and the dead voice of a machine; like vague memories of tradition lost within the digital age we all live in.

This winter Ólafur and his live string quartet performed at unique venues in the UK including the oldest custom-built concert hall in Europe, the Holywell Music Room in Oxford, before he continued playing mostly sold out shows throughout the rest of Europe. Over five hundred people came to see Ólafur at the State-X Newforms Festival in Den Haag alongside Aphex Twin as well as at Iceland Airwaves with Amiina & Jo´hann Jo´hannsson in Brussels. In March he will cross the Atlantic for a few showcases in Boston, New York and Toronto promoting the debut album release in North America. But he will return for an extensive European tour this summer including eight UK dates in June and a few festival performances as well as his first ever Asian dates.

Ólafur is already working on his second full-length record and a string arrangement for Erased Tapes friends 65daysofstatic. His debut album ‘Eulogy For Evolution’ will soon be available in the US, Canada, Asia and the rest of Europe via Erased Tapes Records.

"Twenty minutes of music shouldn't be allowed to sound this convincing. Cloud Archive is California's latest offering, showcasing a smooth rhythmic foundation with progressive and ambient elements balanced in perfect harmony. The band knows how to pack a punch, as it wastes no time going straight for the jugular when it so desires; however, Cloud Archive is not all brawn and no brains. Several tracks on this short EP demonstrate an adept knowledge of cinematic soundscapes, complementing their rowdy compositions with splashes of panacean sounds." - The Silent Ballet

Caldera had been around for a bit of time now, roaming around the Nancy musical scene, whetting their finest tunes and getting ready for the final attack. The time has come now, a time to unleash a roaring fury that has been kept tamed for too long. The band has signed their first album and recorded it with the talented Serge Morratel at the Rec Studio in Geneva, Switzerland, obviously a long time commitment for Atropine and Radar Swarm always marked with success (through Year of no light, Tantrum, Metronome Charisma among others). Caldera’s sound can be pictured as the infernal encounter between the most epic side of a now ageing heavy metal recently revamped by the arcane Impure Wilhelmina and the hazy atmospheres developed by combos such as the post-metalheads Capricorns, not to mention the common love for a tight as Hell riffage they share with the latter’s brother in arms, Taint. Rather than going straight to the point, Caldera deliberately uses sideways, takes you through the filthiest detours but stay assured you'll get your load of insane headbanging listening to these tracks. That's what it's all about.

“Mist Through Your Consciousness” has been recorded and mixed by Serge Morattel at Rec Studio, Geneva, Switzerland (Knut, Overmars).
Mastered by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East Cambridge, MA (Converge, Keelhaul, Knut)
Complete Artwork was made by Canadian Artist Chimere Noire.

By the way Caldera continues to explore its own audio representations and confirms its will to materialize instrumental negative riffing. -myspace
