BOG is a four-piece post-metal band from Vienna, Austria, founded by Tim Primbs as an emotional outlet to cope with several experiences with death. Narrative arcs follow the woven dynamics of the sound. Sonic leitmotifs, ambient layers and authentic songwriting create an unmistakably unique sound.

Unshriven is a concept album, or, more precisely, a station album: 11 tracks shape 11 stations. Two parallel levels (reality and metaphor) tell the stories of two travelers. The first level reveals the story of the 17-year-old, seriously ill girl. The second level is the accompanying metaphor: it tells of Sputnik's journey through colours, emptiness and darkness, of its homesickness and its attempt to return home. An ambivalent construct of hopeful, melancholic melodies and raw, destructive energies creates the emotional sonic images that make the last journey of life comprehensible. Distinctive ambient sound layers, acoustic leitmotifs and dynamic sounds from time and space are accompanied by the voiceover of thanatologist Elisabeth Kuebler-Ross.

Unshriven has various guest musicians from the Austrian and American post-rock scene and other related genres. For the album production, Tim Primbs cooperated with Matthew Prokop (Lehnen), Josh Wing (Sól, USA), Joel Boyd (Lehnen) and Julia Schwarzer (CAYES, AT) and Chris Pobaschnig (Mountain, AT). Will Benoit, known for his work with post-rock bands like Caspian, Junius, City of Ships and Lehnen, did the mixing and mastering.

While there are many bands that traverse and explore the same terrain as heavy titans Neurosis and Isis, very few of those bands embrace these influences and yet do not feel like imitators.

Postvorta , the pulverizing sextet from Ravenna, Italy are ones who incorporate a similar style as their influences, but move themselves and the listener through stunning corridors of sound.

Avantgarde Music is proud to present the self-titled debut album of a brilliant newcomer named Saule. Saule was formed in Poland in 2015, which has come to have the most creative and ever-surprising extreme metal scene of any European country - and for underground music, in general. It is incredible the amount of new bands and great music that this country is giving to fans for the past 15 years - and let's not forget the past! - both in metal, post-rock and prog metal fields.

And that's precisely where Saule comes in with the album Saule. The band's formation process and search for the proper people took about two years, and it resulted in a carefully crafted debut album recorded during the late autumn of 2016 in Satanic Audio. A work of vast vision and rigorous repose, the sound across Saule is focused around post-metal and post-rock genre, but strongly deriving from black metal and acutely coated in subtle ambient echoes. 

Given Saule's rather brief existence and minimal experiences so far (although they've already made their live debut with landmates Thaw and others), the band presently prefers to keep a minimalistic outlook and would love to let the music do the talking. Open your ears to Saule!

A Lot Like Birds is a six piece progressive rock/post-hardcore outfit from Sacramento, CA, formed in September 2009, known for their tendency to experiment with several diverse genre influences and their incorporation of orchestral and ambient sound-scapes contrasted by chaotic, schizophrenic episodes. On January 9th of 2011, A Lot Like Birds announced that Kurt Travis (Ex of Dance Gavin Dance, Five Minute Ride, No Not Constant, and O! the Joy) would be the new singer and second front-man, alongside Cory Lockwood. With their acclaimed addition, the band quickly signed to Doghouse Records (All American Rejects, Say Anything, The Get Up Kids) and acquired The Artery Foundation (Asking Alexandria, Dance Gavin Dance, Alesana) as management.

Their debut album Plan B was the brainchild of the band’s guitarist/original vocalist Michael Franzino, who invited several talented musicians in the Sacramento scene (including various orchestral instrumentalists and a female vocalist) to perform on the record. They spent their first year of existence diligently perfecting their live set, building their fan base, and most recently, writing their sophomore album as a collaborative effort. Their live set is known for setting deep moods that swing from thoughtful, emotional build-ups to body-moving, epic climaxes.

After signing both deals, they entered Interlace Audio Recording Studio with producer / engineer Kris Crummet (Closure In Moscow, Fear Before, Dance Gavin Dance) to record their second full length, Conversation Piece.

After it's release in the fall of 2011, Conversation Piece received praise and they were called "one of post-hardcore’s most important new bands and one of the few capable of saving the scene." (-MindEqualsBlown.net).

A Lot Like Birds spent all of 2012 on the road, taking their new album and frenzied live antics to the masses. The positive reception to their high energy performances lead to a one month tour of Europe in February 2013. The band's growing fan base fueled powerful performances in London, Paris, Vienna, Budapest and 19 other cities.

A Lot Like Birds released their second LP 'No Place' with Equal Vision Records on October 29th, 2013 and their third LP 'Divisi' with Equal Vision Records on May 5th, 2017.
