In many ways, the Madrid post-metal trio Le Temps Du Loup ,displaying an ability to confidently engage more melodic terrain but propelled primarily by a heavy hammer that is primed to drop on listeners’ skulls at any moment. Their journey is one of grim determination to ascend the heights suggested by the weighty thematic content breached in their song titles, which explore cosmic encounters, grandiose cities lost within the Earth and numerous references to apocalyptic events.

Cardinal is a major step in the compositional advancement of Le Temps Du Loup. As their moniker itself indicates, their music is not as much about the calm before the storm as it is the sonic representation of the moment at which one sees the maelstrom encroach upon their doorstep, and the tempestuous experience of becoming enveloped by that instant. There are occasions of understated beauty and more nuanced delivery (“Agartha”), of probing, careful curiosity (“Karellen I – Contact”), and even occurrences of upbeat groove hurtling into space rock territory (“Eulerian”). But be always aware, as every track finds its way to crushing crescendos that favor a bruising rhythm section and crushing riffs that pull zero punches.

Produced by Carlos Santos (Toundra, Jardin De La Croix) and mastered by Brad Boatright (Converge, Mutoid Man), Cardinal feels and sounds gigantic, embodying numerous beloved hallmarks of post-metal. From vitriolic power riffing to contemplative melodic explorations, from deliberate, forceful, low end-driven builds to dizzying climactic heights, this is a record that places Le Temps Du Loup in the conversation with modern giants of the form.

“Between Darkness And Light” is the debut album by Roda de Ter, Catalonia heavy instrumental rock/post-rock band, BLAK.Mixed and mastered by Randy Cordner at Beast Mansion, “Between Darkness And Light” reveals BLAK as a band blessed with an extraordinary ability to create powerfully evocative and stunningly beautiful classical-influenced compositions with haunting atmospherics and an expansive, cinematic sound.

You are in a forest gazing up at the thick whistling and chirping canopy, watching as the sun appears from behind the clouds. You slow your breathing down. You pay attention to the air passing in and out of your lungs and you close your eyes. Everything goes black yet everything comes alive. Your senses are heightened. You listen acutely to every sound close, far, loud and quiet. You smell deeply and differentiate between all the subtle odours. You feel intoxicated by the oxygen-heavy exhalations of the trees as the whispering wind scatters spice-scented decaying leaves like confetti on the path in front of you. You feel the sun’s rays beaming down on you. Your mind feels calm and transparent as the sun’s light enters right through you. There is an explosion of colour and light behind your closed eyes. You are illuminated.

Sometimes you need to hold on to one sense to really start feeling with the others. Attention amplifies sensation. The situation does not change yet how we perceive and experience it does. You need to rise above the noise to take in a view and notice the smallest of details. You need to attentively listen to music or soft spoken words to allow them to reach an emotional level, sparkle the heart and drive your imagination.Only then do they rekindle possibilities. Only then do they fuel your dreams.

Label: Aloud Music Ltd.
Year: 2017

02. Out Of Nothing
03. The Örnen
04. Abyss Of Light
05. Detachment
06. Farewell And Encounter
07. Solstice

Astralia was born in La Floresta in November 2010, from the union of three music coming from different styles but with the common idea of creating songs with new sounds, new atmospheres, new textures, often developed from a few notes. Playing with instruments, they create organic ambiences where harmonic sensation coexist. Creations that inspired by nature and, as well as it does, ask for time and pauses. It’s a space trip, influenced by the most ambient post-rock that goes under your skin and it’s impossible to forget.

Astralia self-produced and self-released their first self-titled album, between November 2011 and February 2012. Two years later, after a positive reception amongst public and media / independent blogs, they released their new work, Atlas (May 2014, self-produced and self-released), together with a presentation tour in Portugal and North of Spain in Summer 2014. By then, they crossed paths with Aloud Music to re-release Atlas in vinyl, 3 different editions, one of them shared with the Belgian label Dunk! Records.

After some shows in Spain and the opening gig at AMFest 2015 (Barcelona), they toured Europe for the first time, playing in France, Belgium, Germany, Holland as well as in the famous Dunk! Festival in Belgium.

The new album “Solstice” was released by Aloud Music in April 2017.

Astralia is Roger Guzmán on guitar, Jordi Guzmán on drums and Albert Clemente on bass.

Video Premiere: Ciempiés - Placenta

Today we are premiering the first official video by Ciempiés and their song "Placenta" from the EP Menos Que Cero.

Ciempiés is the solo project of the Spanish musician Fran H. recently signed to Sportklub Rotter Damm label.

His first work appeared in March of 2014 in demo format. Seven songs that had been recorded throughout January / February of 2014 and that after being published on the web obtained a good response within the more "post-rocker" audience.

Ciempiés' music could be defined as ambient / post-rock / shoegaze but without falling into the classic sound of the bands of these styles. Mostly the project is characterized by the use of acoustic instruments, soft and distant guitars combined with occasional doses of distortion, as well as electronic instruments, DIY machinery, synthesizers, field recordings, etc ... Although the biggest bet of Ciempiés is always perform songs with a high emotional content that are capable of transmitting the joy and sadness of the people we live in these days.

The Inquisition: 080.Viva Belgrado

1. How did you came up with the name of the band?

With a previous band we were doing a set of songs with symbolism based on Eastern Europe and one of the lyrics said “Viva Belgrado”. When we had to play our first show we just chose it because we didn’t have anything better.

2. Do you have a standard procedure of creating a song? Do you just jam around or is there a main riff and the track is build up on it?

We normally bring riffs and basic structures from home to the rehearsal place. Then we jam over them until everybody feels happy with what they’re playing. The lyrics are usually assembled at home.

3. What are your influences and what kind of music do you hear when you are at home?

I guess the most obvious are French screamo bands like Daïtro or Sed Non Satiata and some other modern american acts as Touché Amoré or La Dispute. But we listen to plenty of music at home: from Moderat or Nujabes to David Bazan or Pinegrove.

4. Which is the one album you can't live without?

Probably Laisser Vivre les Squelettes by Daïtro. I keep coming back to it every now and then.

5. What's the first record you've ever bought?

Jaio.Musika.Hil by Berri Txarrak back in 2005.

6. Name a band that you would like to share the stage or tour with?

Plenty of them. I’d probably say Lisabö, one of my favourite bands ever.

7. Did the internet and specially the blogs helped to spread your music around the world?Name a place (country) that you were surprised to know your music has reached to?

Definitely yes, we owe a lot to small blogs and the Internet in general. We’re very surprised about plenty of Russian people following us as we’ve never been there yet and we can imagine the language barrier is strong.

8. Do you support the idea of bandcamp where fans can decide the price or services like spotify?

We’ve always put our music on “name your price” and we’ll always do it. Spotify is interesting and easy going but it’s not the best way of supporting small bands.

9. Where do you see yourselves in 5 years?

Hopefully still touring new countries and playing better shows together.

10. Is the artwork of an album important nowadays in the digital era?

I think so. Music is consumed so quickly nowadays that it is important for an artwork to make an impression on the audience. Also physical copies are sold as a fetish and if the artwork is cool they are more likely to sell better.

11. What is you favorite album cover?

I’m a big fan of simple typographic artworks such as Lisabö’s “Ezlekuak” or “Animalia Lotsatuen Putzua”.

12. It seems that a lot of people are turning on vinyl again. Why do you think that is and which is your preferable media format?

As we said before, if the artwork is cool more people are likely to buy it. Nowadays you can have access to your music on your phone so if people are gonna spend money on a physical copy I understand they prefer to buy something that’s nice to hold and touch. I enjoy the ritual of opening a vinyl and playing it on the plate but try to have my favourite albums on FLAC.

13. What's the most vivid story or moment as an artist?

Every tour is full of vivid stories and it’s hard to chose one. Generally I’d say that to be able to work with and see the world with my best friends is the best thing that’s happened to me as an artist.

Viva Belgrado are on tour right now, so if it happens and play in your town, do yourself a favor and go see them, cause their new album is a killer!

The mesmerising second album from Barcelona’s Syberia represents a new dawn following a period of heightened turmoil. Both head and body music, “Resiliency” documents a mental and spiritual transformation where darkness and light are both essential to the transmission of ideas.

Interspersing influences from across the full spectrum of instrumental rock/metal, dream pop and shoegaze, the band juxtapose order and grace with notions of cathartic freedom - finding liberation in beautiful, uplifting melodies that never lapse into over-sentimentality.

Syberia combine swathes of yearning, crashing crescendos with the serene and pastoral. Tremolo octaves create stately themes from chord progressions which catch you with their heartbreak - ever-questing, hypnotic guitars bring sunlight underpinned by the creeping sense of a tumultuous and complex inner world poised to surface. Dream-like synths and subtle electronic touches create a wide-screen timelessness dotted with barbs and traps, undercurrents of wistful unease which explode into powerfully devastating passages.

“Resiliency” is exhilarating filmic rock which, by the album’s poignant conclusion, will have realigned and reinvigorated you without struggle.
