"Social Habits" is the third studio album from Italian electronic trio Platonick Dive. It marks a turning point in the sound and the artistic path of the band. A decidedly more ambitious album, where the electronics, the beats and the dreaming sounds of guitars and synths are now supporting the lead voice for a complete therapeutic immersion. It's the natural consequence of the therapeutic journey they started with the first album, where the band has as its main objective to use music as self-therapy and then spread it to its listeners. Despite this artistic growth, the sound remains extremely recognizable but even more personal and contemporary. "Social Habits" is composed by ten tracks. Ten different stories of lived lives, ten fragments where you can identify yourself and get lost at the same time, but also find hope and new energies.
Charun's new album is not your average post-metal record. The band has been working on this new release for quite some time and we are not lying when we say that this record has got the potential to become one of the most impressive instrumental post-metal albums of the year. Titled "Mundus Cereris", the band's new opus will take you through over 40 minutes of emotions in music.
The album has been recorded and mixed in Sardinia at the infamous DIY Studios (Second Youth, Scornthroats, Ubiquity) and Blacktooth Studios (Drought, December Hung Himself). The mastering of it has been taken care of by James Plotkin (Isis, Sunn O))), Earth, Amenra and many more).
While there are many bands that traverse and explore the same terrain as heavy titans Neurosis and Isis, very few of those bands embrace these influences and yet do not feel like imitators.
Postvorta , the pulverizing sextet from Ravenna, Italy are ones who incorporate a similar style as their influences, but move themselves and the listener through stunning corridors of sound.

Tomydeepestego (to be read to my deepest ego) is an instrumental post hardcore band with metal and psychedelic influences, based in Rome (Italy).Formed in 2006, the band was started by four members, some well known in the underground scene by playing in bands such as Inferno Sci-Fi Grind'n'Roll and The Phoenix. Almost immediately, the band attracts the attention of Italian label Subsound Records which releases the band's first album Odyssea, in October 2007. Later that year, the American label KNVBI Records, also released the album as a double vinyl.
The band starts playing all around Italy and has the opportunity to be the support band for international bands such as Red Sparrows, Cult of Luna, Fu Manchu and This Will Destroy You. Later the guys start their first European Tour, touching Germany, France and Austria, receiving amazing feedbacks from magazines and webzines worldwide.
In November 2009, the band releases its second album Chronophage, distributed by Subsound Records and Robotic Empire in Europe, United States and Japan. This is a more personal and mature record, which leads the band to a new level of music writing and interpretation. To promote this new album, the band performs numerous concerts, some of which as opening act for God Is An Astronaut, 65daysofstatic, Mono, Russian Circles, And So I watch You From Afar, Boris and Scott Kelly from Neurosis. A new European Tour starts, giving the band the opportunity to play its music to a wider audience and gaining, once again, very good feedbacks.
2012 is the year of Nero, third album of the band. Totally self-produced and available in free download, this album marks the separation from Subsound Records (with whom the relationship is still strong) and the official entry of Nicolò at synth. The records is later released in vinyl version and supported with several gigs around Italy.
In 2016, after 10 years of activity, the fourth album TMDE is released, once again completely self-produced and this time in a digital version only, except for a few especially handmade numbered copies in CD format.

Charun is a four piece instrumental post-rock/post-metal band from Sardinia, Italy. Formed in 2013 they self-released a 4 track demo “De Ortu Solis”, and teamed up with Cave Canem DIY and As Above So Below Records for the release of the full length “Stige”. They combine post-rock atmosphere with doom tendencies and exhausting and evocative metal driven ambiance.

Sunpocrisy were born in 2007 as a four pieces death/progressive band and recorded the first EP called "Atman EP". After the release in 2008 the quartet started the live activity, playing gigs with bands like The Ocean, Ahab, In Mourning, Black Sun Aeon and more.
In 2010 the band got the 4th place in "Wacken Metal Battle", an important unsigned band contest and then they started to create a more complex and different kind of music, becoming a six-pieces post/progressive beast, adding a third guitarist and a keyboard player.
In late 2011 the band recorded the debut album, a full length concept called "Samaroid Dioramas", engineered at Studio 73 by Riccardo Pasini (Ephel Duath, Extrema, The Secret). Since its issue, in February 2012, the album had a lot of positive reviews and the live activity had been pushed to a higher level: the band plays using live-made lasers projections, atmospheric and strobe lights with a massive wall of sound and suggestive visuals, whom the listener feels embraced within.
About 50 shows in two years around Italy, Germany and Czech Republic supporting: Deafheaven, The Ocean, Napalm Death, Mouth Of The Architect, Ken Mode, Arabrot, Ahab, Mose Giganticus, Black Sun Aeon, The Secret, In Mourning, Destrage, Lento, Raein, American Me, and more until late 2013.
November 1st 2015, marked the release of their second album "Eyegasm, Hallelujah!".
Æegeria is the first chapter of a trilogy about the cicle of birth. As Postvorta, Æegeria is the first goddess of the archaic hearth, one of the four Camenes keepers of the birth, mother earth, prosperity and wisdom. The entire concept of the upcoming Postvorta's music will be focused on the links and scents between creation and inheritance, giver and receiver and their ways to take shape.
Platonick Dive is something that you can feel but you can't touch. It's something that really exist but you can't see. Like the platonic love, the Platonick Dive is an abstract immersion into today's society.
2. Do you have a standard procedure of creating a song? Do you just jam around or is there a main riff and the track is build up on it?
It’s never easy to explain about the writing process, ‘cause every track has different story and different inspirations. Writing is what we really enjoy doing, always exploring the many depths of electronic music, trying to discover that particular sound. Sometimes it comes from a piano or guitar riff, sometimes it comes from a synth line or electronic project.
3. What are your influences and what kind of music do you hear when you are at home?
Our music comes from everyday life, so everything and anything could be an inspiration. We are great listeners of different kinds of music: electronic, classical, psychedelic, instrumental. Our main music background comes from the American alternative '80-'90s scene. Also literature and graphic art are great inspirations.
4. Which is the one album you can't live without?
"In Utero" (Nirvana), but also "Dirty" (Sonic Youth) and "Immolate Yourself" from Telefon Tel Aviv.
5. What's the first record you've ever bought?
Probably "Nevermind".
6. Name a band that you would like to share the stage or tour with?
Battles.
7. Did the internet and specially the blogs help to spread your music around the world? Name a place (country) that you were surprised to know your music has reached to?
Yeah, the internet helps a lot to spread our music around the world. Russia and Eastern Europe in general are countries where our fan base is growing a lot. And the internet is essential.
8. Do you support the idea of bandcamp where fans can decide the price or services like Spotify?
Yes, we really like Bandcamp's idea. You put your album with a standard minimum price and then the fans decide what they want pay. It's a brilliant idea! Spotify has some positive aspects but also some negatives. It creates a strange process.
9. Where do you see yourselves in 5 years?
We don't know. We will probably still be trying to write cool songs, because music is more important than everything.
10. Is the artwork of an album important nowadays in the digital era?
Yes, absolutely. 'Cause today, when you see a cool artwork from your laptop...it's always something that captures your attention. And your fans, who buy the album (CD or vinyl), want to touch the album, feel the "physical" of the music.
11. What is you favorite album cover?
Sonic Youth - "Goo".
12. It seems that a lot of people are turning on vinyl again. Why do you think that is and which is your preferable media format?
As we said, the real fan want the physical album formats. Vinyl, more than CDs, is a format that can really give you this sensation. In the digital era, when you buy a physical copy of an album, it means that you are really into that album. So it's a very different sensation to listen your favorite artist on vinyl instead of from a smartphone.
13. What's the most vivid story or moment as a band?
When we shared the stage with Efterklang on our first European tour. It was totally crazy!!!

If I remember correctly, during a flight, our drummer Davide saw this 3 little islands in the sea and he came up with the name three steps to the ocean. At the time we thought that it was a very evocative/epic/spleen name and we got that. We recently decided to change it in threestepstotheocean (there's not such a difference but we prefer like that)
2. Do you have a standard procedure of creating a song? Do you just jam around or is there a main riff and the track is build up on it?
We usually start with a guitar riff then we jam and record everything. If the result satisfies us we go ahead with the structure. When we have a proto-song, we try to arrange it with something that sounds stimulating to us. Sometimes a song grows up fast and without problems, other times we spent months in one arrangement and at the end we decide to delete everything. So it's a long, and often frustrating process.
3. What are your influences and what kind of music do you hear when you are at home?
Everyone who made an interview always answer "oh we listen to a lot of music", so to be different I will say that I didn't listen to a lot of music in this period. For the new album, "Migration Light" we took inspiration from something different from the past. We are an instrumental post-something band and we will be forever compared to some historical bands, which we obviously like, but we really tried to do something different from our previous works.
4.Which is the one album that you can't live without?
I remember when,
for the first time, I've heard "Adrenaline" by deftones, Chino Moreno's screams and Carpenter's guitar riffs literally opened my mind.
Since then I started listening and discovering heavier music (I was a
huge alternative-rock fan) so it's one of the most important albums of
my life, not the best, but a sort of turning point in my music
background.
5. What's the first record you've ever bought?
Probably "Punk In Drublic" by NOFX. I had a lot of tapes made by my friend but "Punk In Drublic" is the first CD I ever bought with my money.
6. Name a band that you would like to share the stage or tour with?
NOFX. Just kidding. For example we never played with Lento, it's incredible. But we will, sooner or later. For sure we'll never play with deftones...and we would like a lot.
7. Did the internet and specially the blogs helped to spread your music around the world? Name a place (country) that you were surprised to know your music has reached to?
Internet and blogging are huge help for underground bands. From the beginning we tried to use the social networks (Myspace was the first) to do a fan base and the blogs helped us to spread it all around the world. It was the only way to promote ourselves out of our city, we met people who helped us touring around Italy and Europe. Once again, it's very important for us. We reached places like Indonesia, Egypt but we have 16 likes on facebook from Iran...this is quite amazing.
8. Do you support the idea of Bandcamp where fans can decide the price or services like Spotify?
When we released Scents we decided to put it on Bandcamp with the "name your price" solution. The idea was a free download but a lot of people gave us money for the download...we were pretty surprised of that. Our goal was to be heard by the largest possible number of people. Spotify is quite different from Bandcamp, for sure it's the main trend right now, but i think it's very cold and impersonal. For Migration Light's release we'll put it for sure in free download on Bandcamp and in streaming on Spotify but Bandcamp is more rewarding for a band like us, compared to Spotify. It's not fair that bands have no chance to get money in any possible way, in my opinion.
9. Where do you see yourselves in 5 years?
In our rehearsal room trying to play something that we like, probably being fatter and for sure older.
10. Is the artwork of an album important nowadays in the digital era?
The artwork is an important part of the album. For us it's a way to express the concept and the album's mood. We always spent a lot of time for the artwork and usually we make a different version for CD, vinyls and t-shirts. We're currently working at the artwork of "Migration Light", we have some ideas, and we're collaborating with a really good photographer. We really love to collaborate with different artists for each artwork.
11.What's your favorite album cover?
Celeste's artworks are amazing. The
idea and the contrast between the images and the music are pretty cool. I
would have had this idea for our albums.
12. It seems that a lot of people are turning on vinyl again. Why do you think that is and which is your preferable media format?
Vinyl is the best format for everyone who loves everything of an album. The artwork is huge, the sound is unique, I think that the vinyl forces you to listen with attention to the music. But we are also aware that the digital formats are easier to find and to listen in other situations. So we release everything in all the possible formats: vinyls, CD and digital.
13. What's the funniest story or moment as a band?
Usually, in a band, the funniest moments happen in tour. This is also for us, especially when someone is particularly drunk or stoned. Francesco for example is very funny in that moments. But sometimes we realize that what we think it's funny, it's just funny for us.

1. How did you came up with the name of the band ?
Kubark is the moniker of the CIA heavy interrogation manual, focused on intimidation and domination. We aren’t interested in military stuff, but we were enthralled by the humiliation concept.
2. Do you have a standard procedure of creating a song? Do you just jam around or is there a main riff and the track is build up on it?
We started our musical process by jamming, but for this new record we worked in a different way: we were interested in composing something near to the pop concept of song. Working in this direction we found that writing a “verse-chorus-verse” composition is more difficult than joining together a couple of riffs united by a strong musical identity.
3. What are your influences and what kind of music do you hear when you are at home?
We all listen to different kind of music. In the last few years we started listening to a lot of electronic music because we think that nowadays some of the best and groundbreaking ideas come from electronic machines and their employments. Sometimes, when we want to listen some good rock records, we look to the past, but we all know that this kind of approach is quite easier, because nowadays if you take a look at the music scene, you can find great bands mixed with a lot of shit.
4. What's the first record you've ever bought ?
Two band members are answering to this interview, so the comeback is a little defective. Anyway, the first record bought by Enrico was Led Zeppelin IV and the first record bought by Elia was In Utero by Nirvana.
5. Name a band that you would like to share the stage or tour with ?
Nirvana and all the 90’s alt scene (Sonic Youth, Melvins…) Amazing.
6. Did the internet and specially the blogs helped to spread your music around the world? Name a place (country) that you were surprised to know your music has reached to?
We think that the internet, and especially social networks has a strong impact and gives a new dimension to the band’s work. The other side of the coin is that a social network can’t always select people who are on the same wavelength with you. This creates a strange situation. On the other hand, blogs, webzines and of course specialized magazines make possible that bands can approach a smaller number of people but that are really interested in the right kind of musical scene for their tastes.We were really surprised to know that our music reached Teheran.
7. Do you support the idea of Bandcamp, where fans can decide the price or services like Spotify?
We think that the price of music has to be made by the band, not by the fans. And by the way, we prefer something like Bandcamp rather than Spotify which has killed the concept of music. We know that Spotify is something like a drug because it’s easy to use and gives you access to an incredible library of music but absolutely doesn’t help the artists on the economic side.
8. Where do you see yourselves in 5 years?
Probably where we are right now.
9. Is the artwork of an album important nowadays in the digital era?
Absolutely. We think that the graphic side is very very important and we hope it’s the same for other bands and people who still buy music.
10. It seems that a lot of people are turning on vinyl again. Why do you think that is and which is your preferable media format?
Vinyl has a different sound quality and the large packaging help to get involved with the album.We definitely love the 180gr. vinyl.
11. What's the funniest story or moment as a band?
We enjoy a lot the trips in our van. Sometimes strange things happen!
12. Are you planning any new releases or tour right now?
Actually, we released our new album and we are working to make the largest possible number of gigs in Italy and Europe. And we hope that this will happen.
