1. How did you came up with the name of the band?

Victor, our former guitar player, wanted a short name, he suggested "something like tundra". After some research I found that tundra in french sound and looked really cool (Toundra). And there wasn't any bands called Toundra, something really important.

2. Do you have a standard procedure of creating a song? Do you just jam around or is there a main riff and the track is build up on it?

Well, definitely a mix of both: we build the songs jamming around a main riff.

3. What are your influences and what kind of music do you hear when you are at home?

We've been listening to a lot of prog music lately. King Crimson, Rush, Opeth... But we also like more punk-rock oriented music, such as At the Drive-in or Fugazi.

4. Which is the one album you can't live without?

I'd say Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd.

5. What's the first record you've ever bought?

The first I bought by myself was The Real Thing by Faith No More.

6. Name a band that you would like to share the stage or tour with?

Right now... Alcest or Opeth. They seem really nice people besides his obvious great musicianship.

7. Did the internet and specially the blogs helped to spread your music around the world? Name a place (country) that you were surprised to know your music has reached to?

It definitely helps. A couple of weeks ago I sent like 30 records to Taiwan. And we also get so many attention from Malaysia.

8. Do you support the idea of bandcamp where fans can decide the price or services like Spotify?

We definitely love Bandcamp, we use it for our first three records and many people gives us support through the platform.Focusing on Spotify... I like it as an user, but I'm not a big fan as a musician.

9. Where do you see yourselves in 5 years?

With another two or three albums out and still touring...

10. Is the artwork of an album important nowadays in the digital era?

We attracted many people to our music thanks to our album's artwork. So, yes, definitely.

11. What is you favorite album cover?

Mars Volta's Frances the Mute. It's amazing.

12. It seems that a lot of people are turning on vinyl again. Why do you think that is and which is your preferable media format?

I like vinyl a lot. Artwork is huge, and all the ritualistic feeling about playing a record... feels awesome. I also consume digital music through Spotify as I said before, but only when I'm not at home.

13. What's the most vivid story or moment as a band?

There's a lot of great moments, but one I liked a lot was when we played for almost 1000 people in Madrid. At the time we appeared on stage everyone cheered enthusiastically. I get chills every time I think of that.

Dotlights is a guitarist turned laptop-producer from the Netherlands. Working out of a small home studio in a quiet town near the German border, he uses guitars, stomp box loop machinery and sampled instruments to create minimalistic ambient bliss. His new release called "What If They’re Right And You’re Wrong" consists of six tracks, all of which feel like a natural progression from previous releases. Like his work on "Qualm" these new tracks lean heavily on guitars drenched in delay and reverb, although the songwriting feels a little more focused, with more room for beats, bass-synth and mangled guitar textures. "What If They’re Right And You’re Wrong" is available on all major digital channels.

Bucharest based post-metal band Valerinne came together in early 2012, when Alexandru Das (guitar/soundscapes), Liviu Stoicescu (bass) and Mircea Smarandache (drums), joined efforts in their desire to play instrumental, atmospheric, haunting, loud and emotional music, completed by live visuals. 

Valerinne’s music takes an organic approach to the post-rock genre. The compositions are ample and dramatic, almost soundtrack-like and evoke a wide range of mental images. The sound spectrum swings from dreamy and fragile to gloomy walls of noise and harsh brutal droning sound intensity.

The band released its debut album, Kunstformen der Natur, in late 2012. Since then they have embarked on a European tour together with Bucharest ambient/drone band Environments, have shared the stage with Amenra, Environments, Atlantis, Maybeshewill, Tides from Nebula, Our Ceasing Voice, Stephen O'Malley and have played at the 2013 Dunk! Festival. 

At the end of 2013 the band released its second album, Arborescent, which takes the aesthetic of their first release further, yet sounds completely different. 2016 started for the band with the double release of their new album Monumenta and a split EP with Tauusk, "Telemetry".
