Capillaries is an instrumental band of four from Atlanta, GA. The music of Capillaries captures a dark history and remains willing to stay behind and investigate it. There are hints of ambiance with a sense of immediacy driving it along. Noise and melody become unintended bedfellows. Bass-driven leads and non-traditional rhythms become the substratum for soaring guitars that take listeners to new heights just before pummeling them back into the earth.

In Each Hand A Cutlass are an instrumental act comprising of some well known musicians in the Singapore music scene.
This band of sonic pirates blends progressive rock, ambient, post-rock and metal elements, casting all music boundaries aside, to create epic sprawling yearning songs that alternate between lifting your spirit and kicking your butt.
Proof of this can be found in spades in their debut album "A Universe Made of Strings". The album was produced by Roland Lim and mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren (of Opeth / Soilwork / James LaBrie fame) at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden. The album was released in conjunction with their album launch show entitled "The Amaranthine Voyage" at the Esplanade Theatres on the Bay, where they played a triumphant and high-octane set to a sold-out capacity crowd of 250 at the Recital Studio.
There’s nothing like creating a soundtrack to life’s unspoken moments and the childlike landscapes that we all paint within ourselves. And that’s exactly what In Each Hand A Cutlass hopes to create by weaving through the rich tapestries of different musicalities; constantly exploring new grounds just like how we as human beings constantly grow and learn.
In Each Hand A Cutlass is not just a band with a fancy name. It is a statement of intent.

If you’re a fan of Harvard, you should already know some things about Jesse Clasen. To name a few, he has an incredible voice and knows how to use it, he plays piano, and occasionally, he will play some horns. What Firewood immediately teaches us is that Jesse had a hidden talent up his sleeve. Sure, he played acoustic guitar on The Inevitable and I, but the guitar on Firewood is much more intricate and it draws you into the song immediately, catching your interest and allowing Clasen to do, well…all the other things he does really well. Don’t come here looking for the pounding drums, groovy bass lines, or dizzying guitars that can be found when listening to Harvard. Just sit back and introduce yourself to the truly one of a kind talent that is The Bear Romantic.

The band’s name is “noise per millimeter”. An imaginary measure that could explain the weird experimental sounds achieved by the group. Whether post-rock, art-rock, alternative rock, Tex-Mex Brazilian, experimental, jazz-rock or any other label that best suits you to define the sound of them. Instrumental tracks, playing with our senses, exploring synesthesia to a better understanding of their music. This is Ruído/mm, a brazilian instrumental band with no frontiers.
"Yes, you may call us a post-rock band, but we'd rather no tags. Or maybe as many tags as possible. It's up to you.
We are no musicians. We are doctors, geologists, biologists, designers and businessmen. We are a family..... oh wait, our doctor is a musician (and we're glad to say he is crazy as well).
We are no musicians. We are doctors, geologists, biologists, designers and businessmen. We are a family..... oh wait, our doctor is a musician (and we're glad to say he is crazy as well).
We were born from the grey series.
We washed out the evil in a tribe of electronic indians (our guitar fx lab).
After that, we took a long vacation at the beach.
And now....we are at the top of the most sacred mountain, ready to jump into a dream of noise and colors." - Ruído/mm

The Beauty Of Drowning was founded in october 2009 by Daniel La China (vocals, guitars) and Jan Liesefeld (vocals, guitars & keys). After the first songs had originated in home recording-sessions, they decided to recruit Thomas Woite (bass) and Timitheus Schlösser (drums) as permanent band members to vivify the electronic sound of the recordings with the esprit of a rockband.
The stylistic range of The Beauty Of Drowning is set somewhere between electronic post-rock and psychedelic doom metal. A variation that manifests itself in melancholic, dream-like ballads, as well as in brute progressive metal songs.
Vocals and songwriting are partitioned between Liesefeld and La China. While La Chinas intones the warm character of the music, Liesefeld, mostly tends the brute side of The Beauty Of Drowning.

Schematics For Gravity is a post-rock/metal band from Malmö, Sweden,
formed by Chris Campbell and Anders Lundgren in early 2010 as a
hardcore/metal band.
The musical direction changed quickly as drummer Pontus Landgren joined
the group and as they got their eyes open for a more atmospheric and
post-rock influenced approach to their once very clear metal
foundation. The band stayed underground for a longer period of time
during their early days experimenting with sounds, influences and
members.
When Martin Nilsson joined on guitar, the band finally had a steady line-up instrumentally and got booked for their first gig. A week before the concert the band still hadn't found any vocalist, Pontus contacted Erik Silverberg, a member from previous bands and projects who agreed to help the band out until a steady vocalist was found to take his place, but later on decided to stay as a permanent member.
The current line-up made their first appearance in December 2010 in Malmö Sweden under a different name.
After a few gigs to try out their style Schematics For Gravity got the confidence to record and release their first self titled EP for download at Christmas 2011 through their bandcamp-site.

"After seven years of existence (2000 · 2007) and being dead for four years more, Julian and Miguel have decided to rescue Nahrayan from the world of the dead, and re-record some songs of the band, adding two unreleased tracks. The main reason to do that is that now, they can offer a better sound quality, better arrangements and at the end, do the songs as they had in their mind, more powerful, dark, melancholic and heavy than the old recordings. This is the way to express the things that they tried to express in the past, but they couldn´t do for various reasons.
Let´s begin the end, let´s end the beginning."
Nahrayan have been Miguel (drums), Julian (guitar), Juanjo (bass), Antonio (vocals), Pablo (guitar and keyboards), Miguel Palazón (guitars), Antonio Ramón (keyboards), Victor (vocals), José Alberto (guitars), and all the people around the world who always supported us, in the past and in the times to come.

A curious mix of chaos and chilling atmospheres, Cadu T.’s Sobre A Máquina relies on trippy beats and meticulous, beautifully crafted timbres, bringing together minimalistic melodies and the complex, worn-out, “urban” sounds of the big city.
Influenced by bands and artists like Throbbing Gristle, SPK, Tim Hecker, Fennesz and Can, the trio first got together when Cadu T. invited Emygdio C. and Ricardo G. to record some songs in 2010. Decompor, their first album, released in November 2010, garnered many compliments on countless alternative media sites.
Sobre A Máquina released their second album, Areia, in July 2011. Areia is a new step that preserves their aforementioned simplicity with a new, wider array of complex influence, ranging from early industrial to free jazz. Areia features guest artist Alex Z. on tenor saxophone.
Now, in December, Sobre A Máquina’s Anomia, an EP with two tracks, completes the cycle of ideas which began on Decompor.
The band has already started the arrangements for a new record conceptualized from absolute zero, which was sworn to be released within 2012.

With the release of ‘Glasnost’, their second full length studio album, Illuminatus have established themselves as the up-and-coming band of 2011. Recorded in Hannover, Germany, in June 2010 by producer Willi Dammeier (Apoptygma Berzerk, Fony, Symphony Cult) and released via Headroom Records in February 2011, the press reactions for the album were again extremely positive – “A fusion of explosive but controlled heaviness, melody and nerve-jangling emotion” (Metalteam UK), “Such an organic, rounded and great album is rarely heard” (Legacy Magazine, Germany), “An absolute highlight, and not just for this year” (Big Five Magazine, Germany).
The band’s unique brand of melodic and powerful music continues to find them airplay on many of the UK’s and European rock radio shows – Bruce Dickinson's Rock Show (BBC6, UK), A-listed on Total Rock Radio (UK), Aardschok Radio (Kink FM, Netherlands), Metal Zone Radio (Belgium), Symphonium Radio (Radio 5, Norway). And a club promo campaign run in March and April 2011 consistently returned a 90% approval rate from both DJ’s and clubbers.
Building on the success of their touring experiences with Ministry (C-U-LaTour 2008), My Ruin (Religiosi Tour 2008), Breed77 & Susperia (Insects & Attitude Tour 2009) and Rise To Addiction (Co-Headline Tour 2009), and previous festival appearances at the Bloodstock Festival, the Fordham Music Fest, the Bulldog Bash and Denmark’s Midwinter Meltdown Festival, Illuminatus have just completed a further successful headline tour promoting Glasnost in the UK and Europe and are now preparing for their first time appearance at the Download Festival on Sunday, 12 June 2011, and a return to the European continent for later in the year.

Hardcore is a notoriously difficult thing to make a name in. So many bands are throwing on their basketball shorts and caps, blazoned with the latest short man syndrome band, and punching the floor to shoddy beatdowns. It’s all become a bit too easy. So when a band comes along like Chronos it’s something truly special.
Mixing hardcore with sludge and then peppering with angsty emo riffs this four track E.P. creeps by slowly. Pulling you into a web that allows you to relax and enjoy nine minute tracks like opener Umedalen: The City of Birches, despite our collective attention spans dropping by the week, and after that you’re hooked; revelling in the power of second track Veils.
Veils continues the down tuned, sludgy path that Umedalen started but constantly improves on it, growing heavier and angrier until it drops into gentler guitar passages. It’s this mix of brutality and beauty that keeps you interested. We’ve all heard guys shouting before, no matter how good it sounds, and we’ve all heard people batter their instruments all for the sake of a heavy sound so to see Chronos embrace the softer side of things is refreshing and when Veils so easily drops into the massive sounding Palaces the admiration grows.
It’s not perfect, not by a long shot, and they are plenty of bands before that have mixed light and dark together and come out trumps. What these four tracks represent is a band to watch out for. A band that will improve and transcend genres to find their own, but as a starting point The Grips of Winter swirls round the listener with its gorgeous sound all the way until the last note of instrumental closer You And The Cold Weather. If you want something original these guys might just be your new favourite band. - Sonic Shocks

Seattle, WA's Panic Records has signed Bréag Naofa. The Seattle based band (which features members of Trial and Love Is Red) will release its self-titled LP on Valentines Day 2012.
Bréag Naofa (Old Irish Gaelic name pronounced Bray-G Nay-Fuh) which simply means "holy lie," was formed of a core of six members whose socio/political ideas all differ slightly. The common thread throughout Bréag Naofa's ideology is that religion still poisons every aspect of the human experience. Set lyrically in a narrative style, Bréag Naofa uses both lyrics and their music as a vehicle to convey this mutual feeling of disgust, despair, and disillusionment with the effects that belief and reliance in the "supernatural" has had upon human existence from past to present.
On their debut self-titled LP, Bréag Naofa brings on a sound that is of the slow, crushing, heavy repetitive nature while adding layers of ambience to almost give you the feeling of being "lost" along with them in the music. Bréag Naofa will surprise you with heavy crushing riffs that start out like a slow locomotive to full force driving "d-beat" style riffs and rhythms. Creating enough anxiety to then calmly bring you back down into yet another ambient wave of music that continues to still hit hard while at the same time hypnotize. Following in the footsteps of other primogenitor artists such as Cult of Luna, Fall of Efrafa, and Isis, Bréag Naofa want to further extend the boundaries that their music can take them and evolve with the music and the message.

The Echelon Effect came to life amid the long winter nights of February 2009, born from a burning desire to fall in love with music again. It started with a laptop and an idea: write a track, and make it huge. But one track became four, an EP that needed an audience. The tracks were posted on MySpace. And people began to listen.
‘Leaving It Behind’ was followed by two more EPs and remixes for The Appleseed Cast and City Breathing. Word spread, and the tracks began to attract positive reviews and gather airplay. What had begun as a way to stave off the dark and the cold had turned into something more.
The Echelon Effect’s debut full-length, ‘Reunion’, was the final part of a quartet of recordings that form ‘Wires and Tapes,’ an 141-minute sequential loop of tracks, each bleeding into the next and the last into the first. As a thank-you to the people who had been instrumental in the evolution of The Echelon Effect, fans were invited to record spoken statements about what home meant to them, which were incorporated into the album’s title track.
More remixes followed, for God Is An Astronaut, Codes In The Clouds, Our Ceasing Voice, Good Weather For An Airstrike and EVOLV among others. In March 2010 The Echelon Effect began work on ‘Mosaic’, their second full-length, featuring the addition of Steve T on drums. The next stage of The Echelon Effect’s journey was released on August 9th 2010.

In 2012 the band will be playing live, but no more music will be recorded.
Both bands Throwers and Vyst got involved in a terrible car crash on their five day tour on the way from Chemnitz to Vienna.
Our rented trailer including most of our valuable equipment got wrecked. Also our driver's VW T4 van got unrepairable destroyed. Gladly, no one got seriously injured. Only minor complainments like whiplashs and bad bruises.
We are truly grateful about everyone who helps us getting out of this miserable situation, no matter in what way.
We seriously thank you!
Incase you are interested in getting shirts, patches or records of any of both bands, you can go to throwers.bandcamp.com and vyst.bandcamp.com. It would help us so much, since we're financially broken.
We are deeply sorry, but we have to cancel the tour.
It is going to take some time to get reorganized and to progress through all the things happened today.
Thank you for caring!

36 (pronounced three-six) is the ambient/experimental project of Dennis Huddleston from the United Kingdom. Since 2008, the focus for the project has been to develop warm, hugely emotive loop-based compositions, with particular emphasis on melody and melancholy. He also runs the label 3six Recordings, which is used to publish his self-released works.

Drop Electric is a post-rock band based in Washington D.C. and NYC. Their music has been described as "sample based, emotive, post-rock." Based in melody and distortion and deeply inspired by cinema, their live show is a combination of evocative music and narrative film that complement the themes and emotions expressed by their mostly instrumental songs.
In December 2010, they released their debut album, "Finding Color in the Ashes" at the Black Cat Mainstage in Washington, D.C. The album has been reviewed and or featured in The Washington Post, Mixtape Muse, Musigh, and a number of other fine publications.

“If the title of Drop Electric’s debut album, ‘Finding Color in the Ashes,’ sounds dramatic, it’s because these songs grew out of a personal tragedy: The family of the group’s former vocalist, Padma Soundararajan, died in a car accident in India in 2008.
That sorrow is apparent in these mostly instrumental songs. Still, the locally formed group (its members met as students at St. Mary’s College of Maryland) also imparts a soaring serenity that recalls post-rock groups Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky. When guitarist Neel Singh plays with a violin bow on the trancelike “Scraping Herself Off the Bottom Rock,” the effect is a fluttering drone that lends the song a rumbling, expansive sound.
Elsewhere, the band’s use of volume swells is striking. “Bones Beneath the Bridges” begins as a smoldering growl before bubbling over to a dramatic climax, while the title track sounds like a dream that awakens with a vibrant xylophone melody. Though shaped by a sorrowful event, this album surges with a tranquil hopefulness. ”
