Doomina is an Austrian post-rock/metal outfit born out of a passion for “sound and noise” in Völkermarkt, Austria in 2006.
That same year, the first demo “A.O.D” was recorded and the second piece “March On, Dead Man” was released digitally in early 2009 after a hiatus due to health reasons.
The first full-length “Elsewhere” was released in June 2012.
Some media sources also says that, - “…Doomina is a combination of Electric Wizard and Acid King with a harmonic influence of late Neurosis pieces that in some parts even reminds you of Mogwai and Tortoise…”.
After some line-up changes their second full-length “Beauty” was released in September 2013.

The “Anatolij” takes the listener to the endless universe. It does not show you a sci-fi world filled with aliens, it simply gazes the frightening and stunning infinity of the outer space instead.
The album tells the story of a conspiracy theory, a short episode in the human space flight competition between the United States and the Soviet Union during the Cold War. The reputation was at stake: who will be the first nation to send a human to space and to recover both him and the spacecraft safely to Earth?
In the early 1960’s, an Italian space researcher caught random radio signals from space in Russian language. The signals turned out to be SOS messages from a cosmonaut couple, Anatoly and Ludmilla Tokov. According to the captivating story, the couple was successfully sent to space before Yuri Gagarin. They had no chance to make it back to Earth, though. Due to technology issues, they were hopelessly left alone in the fearsome emptiness. The conception of the album is deeply influenced by this story, it tells about the experiences of a metaphoric and tragic journey. Moreover, the songs of “Anatolij” try to describe the beauty of the adventure as well. Launching a cosmonaut couple to the unknown space can also work as a beautiful metaphor for marriage and other relationships. The advantage of these songs is that you will probably find new layers in them over again, which gives other possibilities of interpretations for the music.

Approximately four years ago two planetoids - one from a stoner rock group called MG Pistol Rock, the other from a math/post rock group called Imakandi - collided and melted all but their metal core. The result is Entheogen - a homogenous mixture of math/sludge with a pinch of post- and stoner rock. After years of evolution, erosion and gigabytes of organized noise enough matter had broken away from the moons to create a debut album, scheduled to see its first sunrise in the first half of 2013.
The creative process converted the resulting friction into energy for Moons of Jupiter - a thematic album dedicated to the STS-34 mission - the spacecraft Galileo (named after the first observer of Jupiter's moons, described in his Siderius Nuncius from 1610) that was launched on its path from Earth to the gas giant in 1989. The music represents an attempt of a sonic rendering of the mission and is therefore different from phase to phase. The basis remains instrumental math/sludge with influences from bands like Neurosis, Meshuggah, Pelican, Alice in Chains and the like.

There’s always private pleasure in seeing beauty where others don’t. Sometimes it’s just a case of the personal outweighing the spectacular but in a part of the world as vast and stunning as Yorkshire, the abundance of scenery makes finding that place an infinitely easier coincidence. Ilkley or ‘Heather Spa’ is one such place for 36 aka Dennis Huddleston. A moorland area on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, it’s served as both a place of escape and inspiration.
“It’s a place I’ve visited many times at various stages of my life,” he begins, “coming from Bradford, which has had its fair share of social and economic problems over the years, Ilkley provided an escape from the city and is somewhere me and my friends spent many days and nights. It isn't the largest, nor the most beautiful countryside in England, but it has an undeniable charm that’s felt by everyone who’s visited.”
You feel that connection throughout ‘Heather Spa’. It’s one of familiarity and rejuvenation with the exhale of the strings evoking happiness and a gazing contentment. ‘Heather Spa (Burning)’ is just as poised and gentle with its slow, weaving melodies and whilst it’s more clouded and subdued, it leaves a determinedly resonant impression.
“There was a huge fire in 2006 which destroyed vast areas of the moorland,” Dennis explains. “I had visited it only a few days prior and the lush green land was replaced by charred cinders, completely decimating the landscape. It was quite a sight to behold and there was an undeniable melancholy in the air. Reseeding efforts and the tough will of nature has reversed most of the damage and Ilkley Moor is alive once again.”
The initial inspiration for the ‘Shadow Play’ album, this final instalment of ‘Heather Spa’ marks the culmination of Dennis’ personal trilogy, and helps the ‘Heather Spa EP’ feel like a very natural conclusion to a journey of transition, progression and redemption.
"It's come full-circle in a way,” Dennis muses, “Heather Spa as a concept was the catalyst for my latest album 'Shadow Play' and you can see three distinct yet fully-connected chapters on what is a single story; the inception with Heather Spa, the realisation with Shadow Play, and finally with this EP for the ASIP Places Series, an epilogue. I think they're some of the most emotional pieces of music I've worked on and I hope you enjoy taking this final journey with me, right back at the place where it started."
“It’s a place I’ve visited many times at various stages of my life,” he begins, “coming from Bradford, which has had its fair share of social and economic problems over the years, Ilkley provided an escape from the city and is somewhere me and my friends spent many days and nights. It isn't the largest, nor the most beautiful countryside in England, but it has an undeniable charm that’s felt by everyone who’s visited.”
You feel that connection throughout ‘Heather Spa’. It’s one of familiarity and rejuvenation with the exhale of the strings evoking happiness and a gazing contentment. ‘Heather Spa (Burning)’ is just as poised and gentle with its slow, weaving melodies and whilst it’s more clouded and subdued, it leaves a determinedly resonant impression.
“There was a huge fire in 2006 which destroyed vast areas of the moorland,” Dennis explains. “I had visited it only a few days prior and the lush green land was replaced by charred cinders, completely decimating the landscape. It was quite a sight to behold and there was an undeniable melancholy in the air. Reseeding efforts and the tough will of nature has reversed most of the damage and Ilkley Moor is alive once again.”
The initial inspiration for the ‘Shadow Play’ album, this final instalment of ‘Heather Spa’ marks the culmination of Dennis’ personal trilogy, and helps the ‘Heather Spa EP’ feel like a very natural conclusion to a journey of transition, progression and redemption.
"It's come full-circle in a way,” Dennis muses, “Heather Spa as a concept was the catalyst for my latest album 'Shadow Play' and you can see three distinct yet fully-connected chapters on what is a single story; the inception with Heather Spa, the realisation with Shadow Play, and finally with this EP for the ASIP Places Series, an epilogue. I think they're some of the most emotional pieces of music I've worked on and I hope you enjoy taking this final journey with me, right back at the place where it started."

"I wrote these songs while living in Oakwood Hills; a small and uncharacteristically hilly town in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. I dedicate this album to all the beautiful and unique people who I've met up to this point."
